Design & Documentation

Transitioning from Research to Design. This structured 5 step process will seamlessly progress from the initial concept to the finalized design.

Our 5 Step Design Process

Regardless of the size of your project, we adhere to this 5-step process in crafting your design. Fees are determined based on the project's scope.

  • Think of the concept as the cohesive thread woven throughout your design. Every decision, from plant selection to color palette and materials, should be rooted in this overarching concept. To kickstart the process, we'll create a Pinterest Mood Board together. This collaborative tool allows us to collect images and ideas, guiding us as we refine and focus on our concept.

  • When envisioning your landscape, prioritizing functional layout is key. We begin by crafting a preliminary functional diagram to outline the spatial organization and flow of your outdoor spaces. This initial step allows for a thorough study of the relationships between different areas and movement patterns within your landscape. You'll be presented with a minimum of 2-3 functional diagrams, paving the way for detailed planning in subsequent stages.

  • In this step, we refine our preferred functional diagram to solidify its structure and form. The shapes and configurations developed here often serve as the blueprint for the final layout of lawn areas, hardscaping, and bed areas.

  • After establishing the structure of our garden plan, we move on to adding the finer details such as plant selections, arbors, and hardscaping materials. This marks the first presentation of the plan in a more formalized format, showcasing the intricate elements that will bring your vision to life.

  • The master plan encompasses all aspects of the project, providing comprehensive guidance for seamless installation. This typically includes a detailed landscape plan featuring labeled areas and plants, a plant schedule/list, design concept statement, identified materials, as well as any additional photos, perspective drawings, and details necessary for the proper execution of the project.
